MAJOR BASIC INSTRUMENT SET

The Major Basic Instrument Set is primarily used in any surgical case that involves the more important, difficult, and hazardous procedures- major surgery. These are commonly extensive ones that involve organ removal or repair. Unlike minor surgery, a major one is life-threatening, for it involves operations within or upon the contents of the abdominal, pelvic, cranial, or thoracic cavities. Several retractors are also in the Major Basic Instrument Set: the Army Navy for large muscles and the Balfour for giving maximum access to tissues below. There are more instruments like different suction tubes and a tray.
